Almost everyone in Singapore deals with hair loss — on average, we lose about 100 to 150 strands of hair per day. That’s normal. However, any increase in the amount of hair loss over time is considered worrying. In Singapore, hair loss treatments are generally found at two different sorts of clinics — generic aesthetic ones and ones that specialise in hair loss. Apart from medication for some cases, hair loss is usually treated with non-invasive Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) which is purportedly more effective but does not truly guarantee results. How a patient responds to LLLT depends on the condition of their follicles.
New and interesting hair loss treatments in Singapore include Regenera Active, an injectable procedure that involves stem cells and growth hormones. Yet, the effectiveness of results largely depends on the patient. Currently, the only real and effective method for hair loss treatment is FUE & FUT hair transplant, which is a highly expensive plastic surgery method that aesthetic clinics largely do not offer. However, hair transplants are usually only recommended as a last resort if all other treatment methods fail.
